Matt Starkey

Matt Starkey RN, MA, LMHC

Matt spent his childhood in Southeast Asia, living in Hong Kong, Chengdu, and Penang before returning to his passport country, the United States, at the age of 17. After initially working as an ICU nurse, he switched careers in 2014 to work in private practice counseling.

Matt uses a dynamic model of therapy focused more on people than on problems. He primarily works with adults pursuing lasting growth and characterological change in the contexts of individual and couples therapy.

Matt sees clients in Hong Kong at Hub and Spokes International.

Liz Starkey

Liz Starkey RN, MA, LMHC

Liz grew up in the United States in Pittsburgh, PA, and has since lived and worked for over 9 years as an expatriate. She also has experience working at a psychiatric residential treatment center and has maintained a private practice as a counselor since 2013.

Liz employs a relational, dynamic model in therapy to address issues like childhood trauma, depression, burnout, and anxiety. She especially enjoys working with people experiencing the challenges of living and working in cross-cultural environments. Liz also uses her training in Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques to enhance couple and family relationships.

Liz's counseling practice is located at Central Health.
